The XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro projector aims to push the envelope when it comes to the portable projector experience. For me, it’s these portable units that interest me the most, as they are ideal for moving between rooms or taking with you on the go. The MoGo 3 Pro is one of the most promising portable solutions yet, especially at this price point. After using it for over a month in a wide range of test environments, here is my review.
Portable power
Spec-wise, the MoGo 3 Pro outputs a 1080p image with DLP technology, with a claimed brightness of 450 ISO lumens. As expected, it performs well in dimly lit environments but shines brightest in dark rooms. These specs are fairly typical and expected for this kind of device and the experience was, as expected, neither overwhelmingly impressive nor underwhelmingly disappointing.
The 1080p image is crisp, even up to 80+ inches, and the overall colors are pleasing, especially in vibrant video games like Fortnite and Rocket League.
Google TV included
Where the MoGo 3 Pro stands out is with its integration of Google TV, enabling access to over 10,000 apps. This includes Netflix, which is one of the main weak points for other projectors on the market that often require an additional device, such as a Fire TV Stick, to be used as a workaround.
The MoGo 3 Pro is very much “plug and play” with app support like this. This strength can also be seen in other features such as intelligent screen alignment and auto-keystone correction, which combine to make for a perfectly level image.
Solid sound for on-the-go listening
Other feature highlights include the dual 5W speakers, which are impressively loud and full. With built-in speakers often being a key factor for portable projectors, it’s good to see XGIMI investing in a quality Harman Kardon solution.
The MoGo 3 Pro is visually striking, with a design that stands out. However, it also has a functional benefit, with the built-in stand allowing for 130 degrees of movement.
What could be improved?
The MoGo 3 Pro isn’t perfect, but my list of cons is short. First, there’s the perhaps unfair criticism of the brightness. The portable nature of this product makes me yearn for a brighter output, for use in suboptimal conditions or even outdoors.
Second, there’s the lack of a built-in battery. While this is solved by the add-on power bank stand sold separately, users may be shocked to find it omitted from the box.
Third, the MoGo 3 Pro features a Micro HDMI rather than a full-sized port, which can be solved by a dongle or dedicated cable, but is still worth noting.

Final Verdict
The XGIMI MoGo 3 Pro is a solid portable projector option, offering 1080p resolution, built-in Google TV, and good sound quality from its Harman Kardon speakers. While it performs best in darker rooms and lacks a built-in battery, it’s still a convenient choice for on-the-go use. The MoGo 3 Pro stands out for its ease of use and decent value at its price point.
