REDMAGIC Go Power Bank Review

REDMAGIC Go 3-in-1 Power Bank Review

REDMAGIC is best known for its high-performance gaming phones and, more recently, a gaming tablet. These are powerful mobile devices with big batteries and fast-charging capabilities. It’s only natural that REDMAGIC would want to pair these powerful products with a powerful power bank. This is my review of the Go 3-in-1 Power Bank.

Hidden power

The REDMAGIC Go 3-in-1 Power Bank’s specs are interesting, as this isn’t just a portable battery pack. When this power bank is plugged directly into the wall, it transforms into a 65 W GaN fast charger, an output that recent REDMAGIC products will happily utilize to rapidly recharge.

Unplug it from the wall, and the Go 3-in-1 Power Bank’s 5,000 mAh battery kicks in, recharging devices with up to 20 W fast-charging. The built-in USB-C is especially handy, as users don’t have to worry about packing both the power bank and a cable.

The small display shows users exactly how much battery life is remaining, which is a nice touch.

Futuristic charging

REDMAGIC Go Power Bank Review

It’s a great power bank and performs as expected, but the Go 3-in-1 is also aesthetically different. Rather than opt for the usual black oblong or cube, REDMAGIC has gone for a futuristic design that echoes its phones. It looks technologically advanced and is easy to spot in the crowd of messy cables in my office drawer.

The limits

REDMAGIC Go Power Bank Review

When it comes to limitations, the capacity of 5,000 mAh may seem too small for some. With REDMAGIC’s own phone batteries pushing above this, the Go 3-in-1 won’t necessarily guarantee a full recharge. However, the smaller capacity does mean that the device can be kept small and light, to the point where it’s pocketable without weighing down the user’s trousers or shorts.

Another nitpick concerns the foldable US plug, which tucks tidily away into the device itself. However, if, like me, you’re not based in the US, then this convenient feature is made a whole lot less convenient with the need for an adapter.

Final Verdict

At $79, the REDMAGIC Go 3-in-1 Power Bank is premium-priced, but offers convenience factors that many will find appealing. It has a few limitations, but its unique design, versatility, and performance make it a handy accessory — especially for users already in the REDMAGIC ecosystem.
