The GameSir G7 Pro WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Edition isn’t just a pretty face. Sure, it looks superb in the marketing materials, and it looks just as good in person, but it also feels great to use across a variety of gaming genres. Features include tri-mode connectivity, Hall-effect triggers, and anti-drift sticks. After testing the new gamepad in Battlefield 6, Fortnite, and Gears of War, it’s time for my review.
It sure looks the part
Obviously, one of the main highlights of the G7 Pro WUCHANG Edition is the aesthetic. This is one incredibly cool-looking controller and, what is especially cool, is how users can swap out faceplates. Below the WUCHANG faceplate is a very cool transparent blue, which offers a nice alternative look. It feels great, too, like a quality product whose materials were well-considered.
The G7 Pro can be connected in three different ways, with wired, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth available. While wireless will be the main choice for PC and Xbox players, it’s always nice to have Bluetooth for other devices like mobile phones. Oh, and PC players will get to take advantage of motion controls through the gyroscope, which is certainly something!
Feature wins

GameSir Nexus is the app users will want to install to fine-tune settings and get the G7 Pro to perform in exactly the way they want it to. The software is more polished than I was expecting, as these apps can be quite buggy and frustrating to use, but GameSir has done well here.
Thanks to the TMR tech, the G7 Pro boasts exceptional analog sticks. They are super smooth and should stand the test of time when it comes to staving off any drift issues. Another modern must-have is Hall-effect triggers, which the G7 Pro happily has. This controller is certainly checking all of the boxes.
The D-pad and face buttons are solid, too, though lacking in any unique features that make them stand out in any noteworthy way. The D-pad is certainly different to the stock Xbox D-pad, but I wouldn’t say it’s improved. It’s more of a “side-grade” which is fine.
The ‘Pro’ feature to rule them all

The feature I’m always most interested in when it comes to “Pro” controllers are rear paddles or buttons. Thankfully, the G7 Pro boasts four remappable buttons — two on the rear and two near the triggers — that are well-placed and come in very useful during intense first-person shooters where players often want to jump, aim, and shoot all at the same time.
I’m a big fan of the included charging dock, which makes recharging the controller a natural process. You simply plop the G7 Pro on the charger when it’s not in use. However, if you forget to put it back on the charger, you may be caught out by this controller’s one weakness: battery life.
The one downside

I got around 8-9 hours of use out of the G7 Pro in its 2.4 GHz mode before it demanded a recharge. While this is okay, users will want to get into the habit of keeping the controller on its dock when not in use.
