38 Studios Employees Left Unpaid For Almost A Month

Today, Keri reported on several executives leaving 38 Studios. And now, Joystiq has learned that 38 Studios employees haven't been paid since the beginning of May. Their health care benefits will end at midnight... today.

What this says about the future of 38 Studios and their so-called Project Copernicus, which was meant to have a June 2013 release date, is bleak. Curt Schilling

Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee revealed in a press conference today that he would do everything in his power to prevent 38 Studios from shutting down and forcing Rhode Island taxpayers to pay for this expensive blunder of a loan. Of course, they can still sell the studio and its various IPs in development, but who knows if that will cover the entire sum.

    This article caught my eye. Saying the owner of 38 Studios is Curt Schilling, a former red sox player and that they laid off the entire staff on Thursday.
