The 007 First Light cameo of Khabane Serigne Lame, popularly known as Khaby Lame, has sparked reactions from James Bond fans.

For the unversed, 007 First Light is an origin story following the man who will become Bond, focusing on his younger years before he gains 00 status.

On May 25, IO Interactive revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the TikTok star joined the cast of the James Bond game 007 First Light. The reveal came with a comedic clip in which Bond asks Lame for directions to Tranquility Cave, oblivious to the sign behind him that clearly marked the route. With his trademark shrug and outstretched hands, the internet sensation silently sends Bond on his way.

Fans responded to Khaby Lame’s 007 First Light reveal with fast, enthusiastic buzz, with one writing, “Now this will make me buy the game.” “Pre ordered back in March i can’t tell you how excited i am lol,” echoed another. “I’m happy to be covering this game, I’ve been waiting for this for far too long!” gushed a gaming enthusiast. “This is amazing! Nice to see Khaby Lame join 007: First Light! Counting down the hours to play the game,” read yet another hype comment.

A developer’s comment noted that they “worked closely” with Khaby Lame, scanning him and collaborating on his outfit design.

The announcement dropped two days before 007 First Light launches. Pre-orders unlock early access by one day. IO Interactive confirmed that “a few users got hold of the disc early,” leading to the first 13 minutes of gameplay surfacing on YouTube.

007 First Light launches on Wednesday, May 27, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for later this year.
