Yesterday, word got out that Nintendo was planning to release a slimmer, cheaper model of the Wii. Today, the company has confirmed the news, revealing that this new hardware revision will be available for just $99.99. The catch, however, is that you have to live in Canada to score this pretty black box, as it is currently exclusive to the region.
The console will launch next week on December 7th, but be warned, this stripped down version doesn't include Wi-Fi support or compatibility with GameCube software. Bummer, we know.
Nintendo of Canada’s VP Ron Bertram shared the following statement: “There are games in the Wii library for every type of player. Wii Mini is a great gift for the holidays that brings everyone in the family together to play. Wii Mini has a mini price, but it’s all about big fun.”
You hear that? A "mini price" with "big fun". How could one possibly resist?
