Homebrew Dev Continues Work Porting Portal To Nintendo DS

The youtube video above was posted by smealum and shows a rudimentary port of Portal's basic gameplay elements working in emulation. The modder says that the game works better on actual Nintendo DS hardware, but since he can't capture gameplay from that, this emulator output will do.

Smealum writes in the video's description:

finally starting to add some gameplay elements! it's all very buggy but a lot of it does work. there are also some cosmetic upgrades, such as the shading, the outlines on objects and the outlines on portals. Other than that, not much, it's still nowhere near playable, but we're getting there !

I have to say that it's fitting an ingenious puzzle game is getting reworked and programmed for another platform, almost like trying to figure out how to fit too many blocks into too small a box. I love the idea of a portable Portal port, but something tells me we're really just killing this dude's dream. Will all of this attention net him a cease and desist letter from either Valve or Nintendo?
