iOS 15 move Safari address bar iPhone

iPhone users hate the new iOS 15 Safari address bar

iPhone users can now opt to download iOS 15, which Apple boast includes numerous upgrades and improvements. When it comes to the Safari internet browser, however, many believe that the application has taken a step backward. By default, the browser address bar now occupies the bottom of the screen rather than the top. This has irritated iPhone fans wondering how to move the iOS 15 Safari address bar back; fortunately for them, there’s a quick and easy fix.

iOS 15: How to move Safari address bar location back to the top

Here’s how to move the iOS 15 Safari address bar back to the top of the screen on iPhone:

  1. Unlock the iPhone.
  2. Open the Safari app.
  3. Tap the icon with two A’s on the left side of the address bar.
  4. Choose the “Show Top Address Bar” option.

Switching the iOS 15 Safari browser address bar back to the old location is that simple. If users want to give the new iOS layout another try, follow the same process but select “Show Bottom Tab Bar” in the fourth and final step.

Placing the address bar at the top of the screen is pretty much a universal constant for any and every browser and/or device. Switching it to the bottom of the screen is something that a lot of iPhone users seemingly weren’t ready for, as evidenced by some of the responses on social media.

It’s fortunate that reverting its placement is so painless, as the change clearly isn’t popular with everyone. The thought process behind the change seems clear — users’ thumbs naturally sit closer to the bottom of the screen, so accessing the address bar now requires less adjustment. While iOS 15 users might come around to that way of thinking in time, for now at least, many would rather revert back to what they know best.

The iPhone 13 range runs iOS 15 right out of the box, though the new iPhone operating system is missing a couple of key features. SharePlay isn’t due to arrive until the iOS 15.1 update, while there’s still no launch date for ProRes video support on iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max.
