The open world of Final Fantasy XV is large and requires a lot of time to travel through. Although you can run, it'll take a while. That's why getting a Chocobo is so important.
Here's what you need to know about getting your first Chocobo.
1. When you visit Alstor Coernix Station in Chapter 3, you'll be asked to visit the Chocobo Post. Do so to pick up the Friends of a Feather quest.
2. Head back and speak to Wiz back at the Chocobo Post.
3. Upon completion you'll gain access to a hunt called "A Behemoth Undertaking". Take this, defeat the Behemoth, and return to Wiz in order to gain access to Chocobos. This includes the ability to partake in Chocobo Racing just across the street from the Chocobo Post.
