Elder Scrolls Online Doesn’t Require PS Plus on PlayStation 4 [Update: Xbox One Version Requires Gold]

[Update] Bethesda has confirmed to Joystiq that the Xbox One version of its upcoming MMO will in fact require a Gold subscription. Once again, Sony's platform manages to come out on top.

[Original] The Elder Scrolls Online will not require a PlayStation Plus subscription for PlayStation 4 users, game director Matt Firor has confirmed.

Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, Firor explained that those on Sony's platform will need to pay the same monthly subscription price as those on PC and Mac with no additional strings attached. The price to play is $15 a month.

Firor also confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version will run on its own separate set of serves, and that a beta will be coming to console users before release. More information on the beta will be detailed by the studio at a later date.
