UGREEN might be best known for its wide range of accessories — I’ve bought and used the company’s chargers and battery banks myself — but it’s now stepping into the world of NAS (Network Attached Storage). For the uninitiated, NAS can seem like an intimidating subject and a bit too “techy.” However, when it’s broken down, it’s really a simple storage solution that can help users escape from cloud subscriptions. With the NASync DH2300, UGREEN is offering a two-bay NAS with software that should help take the headache out of setup and management. Here is my review.
An approachable solution
As mentioned in the intro, the DH2300 is a two-bay NAS, meaning it supports two SATA drives. Total capacity can go all the way to 60 TB, which is a ton of storage for users’ photos, movies, files, and whatever else needs keeping safe.
Setting up the DH2300 is simple, and the rather limited port selection leaves little room for error. USB ports, a 1GbE LAN port, and a HDMI port can all be found on the rear, with the front of the product remaining subtle and clean.
Your drives, your choice

Users add their drives (sold separately) and then go through the setup using the UGOS Pro operating system. It’s very well done, clearly with NAS newcomers or tech beginners in mind, which is great to see.
JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, and Basic NAS configurations are available, letting users choose a balance between overall capacity and protection with redundancy.
Big wins
The biggest strength of the DH2300 is just how easy it is to set up and maintain. The software does an excellent job of guiding the user and never felt overwhelming in the weeks I’ve tested it.
Automatic PC backups work well, as does syncing photos from my phone. My family can also access shared folders, which is great for those with multiple devices in a household.
When not in active use, the DH2300 works seamlessly in the background, which is ideal. I didn’t encounter any pesky notifications past the setup process. It just quietly works away, giving me peace of mind without the need to constantly check in with it.

In this day and age, the biggest benefit of a NAS like this is being able to take control of your data. Most people have some form of cloud storage subscription, largely due to the number of mobile photos and videos we’re all now taking, but the monthly costs quickly add up and it’s difficult to escape.
With a NAS like the DH2300, which can sync your photos directly from your phone, users can cancel those expensive subscription plans once and for all.
The limitations
When it comes to downsides, one spec will stand out to NAS enthusiasts as limiting: the single 1GbE port. However, for the intended audience, and at this price point, I don’t think it’s glaringly offensive. Users will only really notice a bottleneck when transferring big files. Most of the time, any speed limitations will go unnoticed.
Additionally, the UGOS Pro software may seem barebones for those with prior NAS experience. However, for this product’s primary target market, simpler could be seen as beneficial, but this point is still worth mentioning.

Final Verdict
At $209.99, the UGREEN NASync DH2300 offers a straightforward and accessible way to get started with NAS. It focuses on simplicity, ease of setup, and hands-off day-to-day use, making it well suited to users who want local storage without unnecessary complexity. While it has some limitations, they largely align with its intended purpose, resulting in a product that does exactly what it sets out to do.
