The Lepro ZB1 AI Outdoor String Lights aim to push the envelope when it comes to outdoor lighting. For those who want to customize their lighting throughout the year, including the holiday season and beyond, Lepro provides the tools with quality hardware and software. Here is my review.
Big customization
The big selling point of the ZB1 is the RGB+IC system, allowing each individual segment to be controlled and personalized separately. Combine this with the app, and users can choose from countless combinations to suit the mood or season. This goes beyond anything I’ve ever used before and really does feel like the next step in outdoor lighting.
Lighting choices range from simple warm white options that suit any scenario with their subtle yet effective impact to heavily animated light shows that make use of various patterns.
Go wild with it

The Lepro app connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to allow quick customization. One feature I was especially curious about was the LightGPM mode, which asks users for a prompt that it then uses to design a pattern. So you could say “Christmas lighting,” and the LightGPM mode would choose an appropriate theme.
The ZB1 can also respond to music, which is always a great feature to have available for party situations. Turn up the music, and the lights will react. It works well enough, reflecting the beat of the song.

The downsides
When it comes to downsides, the main issue I faced was integration with Alexa. While basic functions do work, it would be nice to have a deeper range of voice controls, as diving into the app can mean friction. It lessens the magic somewhat.

As another nitpick, the “AI” integration is fun but seems limited, and I ended up fine-tuning my own settings without its help.
