What Are You Playing? October 4, 2017

Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the calm before the storm. Over the course of the next few weeks, so many major games are releasing that there will be almost too many games. If you, like me, cannot wait for at least one of them to launch (I now can’t think of Super Mario Odyssey without dribbling a bit), then the wait until this influx of new games is becoming unbearable. But we must be patient.

The best thing to do while waiting for a new game is to release is to play a completely different one. I have learned this from years of playing video games too much, and from waiting impatiently to consume things before inevitably being disappointed. This time I won’t be disappointed, though, because Super Mario Odyssey is going to rock my world, and if it doesn’t I’m going to banish the Switch to my Wii U cupboard. It won’t like it in there — it’s cold and filled with unnecessary peripherals.

So while we wait for all the shiny new games to release, let’s talk about what we’re playing right now. Personally, I’m playing a lot of FIFA 18 because it’s one of the greatest FIFAs ever made (*cough* self-promotion *cough*), along with Overwatch again because I can never be pulled away from it for too long.

But what are you playing? Are you still braving Cuphead, a game which I downright refused to complete? Or are you still making your way through Destiny 2, increasing your power and playing through its endgame content? Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to check out our ‘What Are You Playing’ forum thread, too.
