South Park: The Fractured But Whole features a variety of classes and powers for players to select, with the RPG allowing you to pick and choose which abilities you can use to aid you on your adventure. There are a total of 10 classes you’ll be able to use throughout the game, and you can mix and match them in order to create your own unique class combination.

While this approach allows for a large degree of customization and grants Fractured But Whole a surprising amount of depth, it does mean that there are an almost overwhelming number of powers to choose from and it can be difficult to know which ones will be of most use as you progress through the game. As such, we’ve provided a class guide below detailing every class that will be made available to you throughout the game, an overview of their powers and how they’ll each help you in battle. Should you pick them?

Speedsters are light on their feet, prioritizing mobility and strength. While there are stronger classes in the game, none have greater mobility than the Speedster, making it a strong first choice.

Quantum Strength

Range: Attacks enemies within a square surrounding the player’s tile

Damage: High

Status Effects: None

Double-Edge

Range: Player’s tile only

Damage: None

Status Effects: Grants the player two actions on the turn it is used, but causes them to miss their next turn.

Supersonic Dash

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Knockback

Ultimate: Hyperspace Fury

Range: One tile ahead of the player

Damage: High

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Brutalist

Should you pick them?

A highly powerful class with minimal range, the Brutalist is the ideal class for those who want to dish out high amounts of damage. Their low range means that they’ll struggle when facing off against enemies attacking them from a distance, but as a DPS class they’re one of the game’s strongest options.

Brutal Bash

Range: One tile ahead of the player

Damage: High

Status Effect: Knockback

Wrecking Ball

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player

Damage: High

Status Effect: Knockback

Gasto Smash

Range: One tile surrounding the player

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Grossed Out, Knockback

Ultimate: Full-Force Fisting

Range: One tile ahead of the player

Should you pick them?

A ranged hero that deals moderate damage, the Blaster is a decent all-rounder with some helpful status effects. Not the most impactful of classes, there are certainly better options in the game.

Triple Burn

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Burning

Heat Wave

Range: A column of three tiles ahead of the player

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Knockback up to three enemies

Plasma Beam

Range: Six tiles ahead of the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: None

Ultimate: Backfire Blast

Range: One tile ahead of the player, and then a column two tiles wide with a length of three tiles

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Burning and Gross Out

Should you pick them?

A low-damage class with weather-based status effects and good range, the Elementalist can be a pest for the enemy team on the battlefield. If you’re okay with substituting power for status effects, then this class is a good option.

Sand trap

Range: Damages in four tiles in a square surrounding the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: None

Ice Prison

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a square

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Chilled

Hydro Helper

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a square

Damage: None

Status Effect: Heal, Attack Up

Ultimate: Elemental Onslaught

Range: A square surrounding the player up to four tiles wide

Should you pick them?

A class with varied damage output that specializes in messing up the enemy using special abilities The Cyborg attracts a lot of attention to itself, so supplementing their abilities with some close-range crowd control moves is a favorable tactic.

Fatal Attraction

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Pulls in nearby enemies

Ganz Technique

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player

Status Effect: Applies Enraged, Gains Block

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Psychic

A ranged class with moderate damage and a high amount of status effects, the Psychic is an excellent support class that can divide the enemy team. Equipped with both healing powers and the ability to confuse the enemy, the Psychic is great for both buffing allies and making enemies easier to deal with.

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a square

Damage: None

Status Effect: Grants Protection to the player or an ally

Dazzling Flash

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a square

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Confusion

Cerebral Blast

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player in a diagonal line

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Defense Down

Ultimate: Chakra Cleanse

Range: A square seven tiles wide surrounding the player

Damage: None

Status Effect: Healing and grants Protection

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Assassin

A moderate damage class with status effects and decent range, as its name suggests the Assassin attacks from the shadows. A great class to pair with high damage attacks, the Assassin ensures that you can stealthily infiltrate the enemy’s back line, deal out a ton of damage and then slink back into darkness.

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Bleeding

Spin Slash

Range: Three tiles on all sides of the player’s tile

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Bleeding

Shadow Swap

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a small square

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Grants Invisibility

Ultimate: Deadly Dive

Range: One tile in a square seven tiles wide surrounding the player

Damage: High

Status Effect: Bleeding, grants Invisibility

 

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Gadgeteer

A gadget-based class with plenty of tools to get the job done, the Gadgeteer uses, er, gadgets in order to aid your attack. Armed with a robot that detonates over a period of time and a turret that deals sustained damage until it’s destroyed, the Gadgeteer can be a pain for the enemy to deal with and its gadget-based abilities are best paired with some healing powers.

Boom-Boom Buddy

Range: One tile surrounding the player in a square

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Summons a robot

Straight Shooter

Range: One tile surrounding all sides of the player’s tile

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Summons a turret

Gigavolt Globe

Range: One tile ahead of the player, three tiles ahead of that tile in a single column

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Shock

Ultimate: Airborne Annihilator

Range: A square of nine tiles ahead of either side of the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: None

 

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Plantmancer

A support class with useful status effects and great range, the Plantmancer can dish out punishment and heals from a mighty distance. The best pure support class in the game, the Plantmancer is ideal for those who want to provide buffs / dish out status effects on the back line while their buddies dish out the damage.

Putrifying Petals

Range: A square of up to two tiles surrounding the player

Damage: None

Status Effect: Heals, removes status effects and grants Attack Up to the player and nearby allies

Sweet Scent

Range: Three tiles ahead of the player

Damage: Moderate

Status Effect: Charm

Root Burst

Range: A column with a width of three tiles and length of six

Damage: Low

Status Effect: Bleeding, Knockback

Ultimate: Nature’s Gift

Range: A square seven tiles wide surrounding the player

Damage: None

Status Effect: Heals and revives all players

 

Fractured But Whole Class Guide: Martial Artist

A high-damage class ideal for swiftly dispatching enemies, the Martial Artist boasts the most powerful base attacks in the game. Equip the Martial Artist with a self-healing ability or a move that grants them some mobility and you’ll have the most competent powerhouse in the game.

Dragon Dance

Range: All tiles surrounding the player in a small circle

Dragon Reversal

Range: Four tiles ahead of the player
