Final Fantasy 15: Comrades had a change of release date a little while back, but starting today you can download the multiplayer expansion. FFXV has a vast world that is an excellent backdrop for multiplayer, and Comrades is a sizable DLC that adds a whole new style of playing to the game.
Below, you can see how to download Comrades for FFXV on PS4 and Xbox One. We’ll also describe the process you’ll need to follow in Final Fantasy 15 to access the Comrades DLC once you’ve installed it.
FFXV Comrades Release Date and Time
The release date for Final Fantasy 15 Comrades was November 15, 2017, for Xbox One and PS4. The DLC should have unlocked for everyone around 12:00 AM PT/3:00 AM ET, so if you don’t see it, try rebooting your system.
How to Download FFXV Comrades on PS4 and Xbox One
Unlike the previous DLC for FF15, Comrades won’t automatically install as part of an update. You’ll need to find it in either the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Marketplace and manually download it. FFXV: Comrades is a bit larger than previous DLC packs, and the download is about 7.5 GB on both PS5 and Xbox One.
Before attempting to install the expansion, make sure that your Final Fantasy 15 installation has updated to Version 1.18. If you haven’t turned your system on for a while, you may need to wait for this patch to install.

To download Comrades, you’ll also need to own and install the FFXV Season Pass or purchase the Comrades DLC separately for $19.99. The Final Fantasy 15 Season Pass is only $24.99 now, and it’s worth the extra $5 for Episode Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto; and the Holiday and Booster Packs.
Once you fulfill the above conditions, you can download the FFXV Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. However, unlike the base game, you must also have an Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus subscription to play Comrades online.
How to Start FFXV: Comrades DLC Once it’s Installed
To launch the Final Fantasy 15: Comrades expansion you’ll need to start the main Final Fantasy XV game. Once you’re in-game go to the main menu and enter the DLC Menu. There you’ll find Comrades alongside any other DLC you may have installed.
