Monster Hunter World has a few extra features for players who own a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. While the game plays well on the base PS4 and Xbox One, those who have 4K and HDR capable TVs will appreciate the enhancements that come with playing Monster Hunter World on Xbox One X or PS4 Pro. Below we’ve compiled all the info we have about extra options you’ll have access to if you play on Sony or Microsoft’s upgraded consoles.
Is Monster Hunter World Compatible With PS4 Pro?
Players who own a regular PS4 or PS4 Slim will have to make due with one graphics setting. However, PlayStation 4 Pro users get a choice between what aspects of the graphics they want to prioritize. Monster Hunter World can make use of the extra power that comes with the PS4 Pro to choose from several options concerning video quality. Additionally, the PS4 Pro allows for HDR on compatible TV sets.
The options for Monster Hunter World on PS4 Pro are:
- Prioritize Framerate: This sets the game’s target to 60 fps at the expense of resolution and detail.
- Prioritize Graphics: This is the option to choose if you want more dynamic shadows, better anti-aliasing, and sharper textures more than a high resolution or framerate.
- Prioritize Resolution: If you want the PS4 Pro to push more pixels instead of smoother motion a more detailed work, this is what you want to pick.
Capcom hasn’t released info on just what resolution the game will run at in the various options. The highest resolution Monster Hunter World will likely have is 1440p checkerboarded up to 4K, but it remains to be seen if that’s the case.
Is Monster Hunter World Xbox One X Enhanced?
The Xbox One X will be able to push Monster Hunter World at better fidelity than the base Xbox One or Xbox One S. The Xbox One X enhancements to the game include the ability to render the game in HDR, and it’s likely we’ll see similar options to those that are on the PS4 Pro.
Right now there’s not a lot of info on what the Xbox One X enhancements for Monster Hunter World will be, but we’ll update this as more information becomes available.
