Fortnite Mobile crashing on you? You’re not alone. Invites for the iOS version have gone out, but for some players, Fortnite Mobile keeps crashing over and over. There are multiple reasons that the game just won’t work for you, and we’ll cover them below.
Why Does Fortnite Mobile Keep Crashing on iOS?: Compatibility
One of the most common reasons Fortnite Mobile might not work on your iOS device is that it’s not compatible with the game. Most of the time when an app or game isn’t compatible with an iOS device, it’ll tell you in the app description, and you won’t be able to download it.
However, it seems like the compatibility settings may have been set wrong with Fortnite Mobile, allowing some players with incompatible devices to download the game. Additionally, you must have iOS 11 to run this game.
Which Phones Can Run Fortnite Mobile?
While we still haven’t been able to test Fortnite Mobile across a wide range of devices, we think we’ve pinpointed the minimum requirements to run the game on an iPhone.
To play Fortnite Mobile on your iPhone, it must have a minimum of 2 GB of RAM and an A9 or better CPU. This means that the iPhone SE and 6S and newer can run the game. Any device older than that will likely crash Fortnite as soon as you try to launch it.
For reference, here’s the list of iPhone models that can run Fortnite Mobile:
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6S / 6S Plus
- iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 / 8 Plus
- iPhone X
Which iPads Can Run Fortnite Mobile?
Up until now, you could run any game on the app store on pretty much any model of iPad made in the last five years. Unfortunately, Fortnite Mobile is part of a new wave of more graphically intense games that are finally rendering iPad Airs and iPad Mini 1, 2, and 3 obsolete.
The same stipulations that apply to iPhones also apply to iPads. That means if you’re going to run Fortnite Mobile, without crashing you’ll need to have an iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2 or newer device.
Below is a list of iPads compatible with Fortnite Mobile:
- iPad Mini 4
- iPad Air 2
- iPad 2017
- iPad Pro
Fortnite Mobile Crashing Fix: You Haven’t Received an Invite
Anyone can download the Fortnite Mobile app from the Apple App Store, even if they don’t have an invite code. If you download Fortnite and try and play it without receiving an invite, there’s a chance it can crash, and even if it doesn’t, you won’t be able to play.
If you have received an invite, make sure that you click the link in the email before you try to play. You must validate the code through Epic’s website before the app lets you in.
