As mentioned before, regulating your temperature in Red Dead Redemption 2 is very important. This is because if you go in either extreme, your cores will start to deplete. This means your health regeneration may not be as effective as it could be. It might even lead to no health regen at all if you let your health core deplete because of the weather.

Various items of clothing will help you out in the extreme temperatures of the wild west. Clothes will be labeled as “slightly warm,” “very warm,” or “suitable for warm weather.” Each of these will be good for various different areas of the map. The warm clothes will be beneficial in the northern regions of the game due to its low temperatures. Southern areas of the map are the opposite in the sense that they are extremely hot. When going to any of these areas, you must dress accordingly. You will be able to check the temperature of the current area you are in by pressing down on the d-pad.

You can store your clothes in various places, but most importantly you can carry them on your horse. Initially, you will be only able to take three. But through upgrades to the saddlebag, you will be able to carry five sets of clothes. Carrying different outfits is very wise since over the course of a mission you may move across the different areas of the map.
