Super Smash Bros Ultimate releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018. There will be plenty to unlock, including the recently announced Spirits. Spirits in Smash Ultimate can be attached to your fighter for stats boosts and the like and are based on characters from all across the gaming spectrum. You unlock Spirits by playing through the challenges of the Spirits mode. There is a way to unlock Smash Ultimate Partner Pikachu and Eevee Spirits without playing Pokemon Let’s Go, however.
Smash Ultimate Partner Pikachu and Eevee – What Are the Spirits?
In a nod to the recently released Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, players in Smash Ultimate can unlock the two title partner Pokemon. Different from a standard Pikachu or Eevee, these special Partner Pokemon editions will give us different stat effects. As per the official Nintendo AU NZ Twitter post, the stats for both are as follows:
- Smash Ultimate Partner Pikachu: Support type Spirit, 3-star Ace. Equipping Partner Pikachu will award your fighter with increased attack and movement speed when you are undamaged.
- Smash Ultimate Partner Eevee: Another Support type Spirit, 3-star Ace. Equipping Partner Eevee will greatly increase your fighter’s attack, defense, and movement speed after eating.
The bonuses you receive for equipping either Partner Pikachu or Eevee are solid, but how do you unlock them?
Smash Ultimate Partner Pikachu and Eevee – How to Unlock
Unlocking both the Smash Ultimate Partner Pikachu and Eevee is rather simple. If you have a save file for either Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, you will unlock the respective Partner Pokemon as a Spirit in Smash Ultimate. You will get both if you have a save file for both titles on your Switch.
Smash Bros fans who don’t own either Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, however, there is no need to worry. You will still be able to get hold of both of the Partner Pikachu and Eevee Spirits via Spirit challenges.
