Resident Evil 2 Jack Handle Location Lower Bookcase

Resident Evil 2 Jack Handle location | How to lower the Library Bookcase

The first time you run through the Library in the Resident Evil 2 remake, you’ll likely notice that a bookshelf has been raised on a jack. Unfortunately, there’s no jack handle nearby, leaving you unable to move the bookcases. Finding the jack lever is a task that will take a lot longer than you’d think, but you’ll know when it’s time to get it.

We’ll show you where to find the jack handle in Resident Evil 2 and how to use it to lower the bookcase in the Library.

Where is the Jack Handle location in Resident Evil 2 remake?

Resident Evil 2 Jack Handle Location

The first time you see the jacked up bookshelf in the Library, you’ll probably think to yourself that the Jack Handle to let it down must be nearby. You’re not wrong. It is nearby, but you can’t actually access it until later in the game. For the time being, note its location, and do your future self a favor and clear out the zombie near the bookshelf.

Before you can let the jack down in the Library, you’ll need to head through the underground passage, explore the basement, and grab the crank if you’re Leon or use the elevator to get to the Chief’s Office if you’re Claire. You’ll need to have either the Heart Key (Claire) or Club Key (Leon) in your possession before you can access the area containing the Jack Handle.

Once you have the Club or Heart Key, you can head to the Records Room in the first floor west wing of the RPD. You can unlock the west-facing door with the Club Key or the north-facing door with the Heart Key. On a table inside the Records Room, you’ll find the Jack Handle, which will appear in your inventory as the “tool.”
