Origin Online Login is Currently Unavailable Fix | Why can’t I log in to Origin?

Can’t log in to Origin? You aren’t the only one getting a troubling “Online Login is Currently Unavailable” message when trying to sign in through EA’s service. However, Origin is down today for some players across the US, as well as other regions. While nothing has come out on why that might be the case, we at least have an Origin Online Login is Currently Unavailable fix for you to get stuck in to. Because you should never be locked out of your games.

Why can’t I log in to Origin?

Online Login is Currently Unavailable

Whether it’s a DDoS attack, or something less nefarious, we can only speculate on why Origin is down in the US and other regions. Either way, the roadblock is obvious: any attempt to log in to Origin today will see you being met with a peculiar message saying you’re in offline mode and, when you try to go online, you’ll see a pop-up stating: Online Login is Currently Unavailable

So, yeah, not ideal. It’ll even send you more into a tizz by saying you need to activate games you have already activated and, crucially, already own.

EA, for its part, has responded via its EA Help Twitter account, saying that “We’re looking into intermittent login issues” as of 7 AM Eastern, April 1. However, this is no April Fools’ joke.

Thankfully, there is a fix to the Online Login is Currently Unavailable message. All you need is a VPN.

So, fire up your VPN and set your location to another country. Say, Spain, for example. Now, log in as normal.

Done that? Good. Here’s the slightly tricky bit. You now need to turn off your VPN. Hopefully, if it works, you should still be logged in and will be able to play as normal.

For its part, EA has also suggested using a VPN, as well as using a mobile hotspot. We don’t recommend the latter, lest you want to get a serious data-intensive phone bill at the end of the month.
