Over the course of the past few months, players have been checking into Fortnite each and every day to complete the daily Fortbyte challenges, Weekly Challenges, Event Challenges, and more for Season 9. The time has almost come to put a bow on the ninth season of Fortnite and welcome in Season 10. While players don’t know what is in store for the first double digit season of Fortnite, it’s safe to assume it’ll be a little bit of old mixed with a little bit of new. Let’s take a look at the Fortnite Season 10 release date and see when Season 10 is set to start.
Fortnite Season 10 Release Date | When does Season 10 start?
The current season of Fortnite launched back in May and is finally set to come to a close in the next few days, which means the Fortnite Season 10 release date is upon us. Typically, a season usually lasts ten weeks; however, that isn’t the case this time around. Due to the Fortnite World Cup, Epic Games has extended the launch of Season 10 by two weeks, adding in Overtime and Birthday Challenges to keep players occupied.
With this setback, this means that Season 10 of Fortnite will begin on Thursday, August 1. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Epic Games at the time of writing, it is almost certainly going to be the release date. There are two main things that back up the August 1 release date, previous seasons and the end of the Overtime Challenges. In past seasons, Thursdays have been the preferred launch date of a new season. Additionally, the Overtime Challenges are set to expire next Thursday, making it seem obvious that Season 10 will launch next week.
However, we don’t currently know the time that Season 10 start. Last season, the game went down at 3 am CST and came back up around an hour later to kickoff the new season, so it seems possible that Season 10 could launch early that morning. On the other hand, the challenges typically go live at 8 am CST, so it could launch then as well. As the Fortnite Season 10 release date gets closer, Epic Games will likely fill in players via Twitter on what the team has planned.
