Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta | When you can play

Dates for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta has been announced. This will be the first time the general public will get their hands on Activision and Infinity Ward’s newest take of the long-running first-person shooter series. This guide will lay out the schedule for the beta, what platforms will be included in the testing period, and what to expect during the limited period.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta | When you can play, available platforms, and crossplay

During the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer reveal trailer, it finished with the open beta announcement. However, there are a few details you need to know if you want to participate during the limited time period.

If you want to be among the first to partake in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta, there are two conditions you must adhere to. First, you will need to pre-order the game to get Early Access to the beta. Secondly, you must have a PS4 console. The first open beta period is from September 12 -13, and is exclusively for PS4 and those who have Early Access. From September 14 – 16, the beta will open to all PS4 players.

If you are an Xbox One or PC player, you will have to wait just a bit longer. The Early Access beta period for Xbox One and PC will begin on September 19 – 20. The beta will open to all players, regardless of platform or Early Access, from September 21 – 23. It should be noted that during this week, all PS4 players will have open access to the beta between September 19 – 23. Here is the scheduling for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta:

  • PlayStation 4 Exclusive Beta
    • September 12 – 13 (Early Access, PlayStation 4)
    • September 14 – 16 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4)
  • Beta featuring crossplay testing
    • September 19 – 20 (Early Access, PC and Xbox One; Open Beta, PlayStation 4)
    • September 21 – 23 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One)

You may have noticed the title for the second beta period. Yes, crossplay is planned for the full release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare allowing Xbox One, PS4, and PC players to come together and fight on all the new maps and modes the new entry has to offer. Between September 19 – 23, this feature will be available to test.
