Destiny 2 has been on PC for almost two years now, and during that time the game has changed a lot. Aside from embracing its loot-shooter design, the game’s had multiple sizeable expansions, a full change in publisher, and soon the PC version will have its biggest change yet—it’s moving from Battle.net, its home for the last two years, to Steam. With that huge platform move and the arrival of the upcoming Shadowkeep expansion, have there been any change to the Destiny 2 PC specs? Let’s have a look at the game’s current minimum and recommended system requirements.
Destiny 2 PC Specs | Minimum system requirements
We’ve looked into it carefully, and as far as we can tell, the good news is that the Destiny 2 PC system requirements do not seem to have changed in the past two years. Despite the move to Steam and the introduction of bigger and better expansions, including the upcoming Shadowfall, Bungie clearly feels that the game can still be played by users with a GeForce GTX 660 and an Intel i3-3250.
The most troublesome part of these requirements, even today, is the hard drive space requirement of 105 GB available space. With multiple expansions and updates under its belt, this is the one requirement that’s been increased since the game came out in 2017, since it was originally only 68 GB. Unfortunately, this is just something you’ll have to accept if you want to play Destiny 2 on PC, and we can guarantee that requirement will increase again.

Destiny 2 PC Specs | Recommended system requirements
Let’s be honest here, and say that while the minimum system requirements for Destiny 2 have mostly not changed in two years, the game has. All the expansions and updates are not being made with users holding the bare-minimum PC specs in mind, so you’ll definitely want to approach the Recommended requirements instead if you want to experience Destiny 2 optimally. Fortunately these requirements haven’t really changed either, so they’re a lot more reasonable now.
