Pokemon Sword and Shield Shiny Charm Location | How to unlock
If you’re looking to increase your odds of finding and collecting Shiny Pokemon in Sword and Shield, we know where you can get hold of the Shiny Charm in the game. To get hold of the Pokemon Sword and Shield Shiny Charm, you will need to follow these steps:
- Complete the Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex (which will take a long time, unfortunately, even without every Pokemon being in the game)
- Talk to the doctor in the Hotel in Circhester

Once you have completed the Pokedex in Sword and Shield (seeing all Pokemon in the game, not catching), you will need to speak to the man in a doctor’s outfit in the Hotel in Circhester. You’ll find the Hotel to the left of the town. Head inside and go upstairs via the elevator to the back-left room and speak to him. He will let you know if you have completed the Pokedex or not.
What Does the Shiny Charm do?
If you want to collect Shiny Pokemon in Sword and Shield, you will want the Shiny Charm. Simply put, this item will dramatically increase your chances of discovering Shiny Pokemon. Without the Shiny Charm, your chances of finding a Shiny (the Shiny rate) is one in 4096. With the Shiny Charm, this rises to a one in 1365.33 chance. There are Shiny Pokemon out there, the Charm simply makes it easier to find them.
