Fortnite can't aim bug

Fortnite Can’t Aim Bug | Unable to aim down sights fix

Whether you’re playing Fortnite or any other online shooter, not being able to aim is a surefire way of losing your match. You can still shoot from the hip, sure, but that puts you at a huge disadvantage when the opposition can gain much greater accuracy by aiming down sights. Can anything be done to regain ADS and fix the Fortnite can’t aim bug, then? In this guide, we’ll explore how the Fortnite unable to aim down sights glitch occurs and what you should do if you fall victim to it.

Why can’t I aim down sights in Fortnite?

While a previous Fortnite glitch would cause players to become stuck in ADS, this new bug is even more frustrating. You’ll know that it’s happening when pressing the relevant button to aim down sights simply does nothing in-game. Thankfully, your controller or mouse most likely isn’t broken and there is a potential fix.

According to the official Fortnite status Twitter account (@FortniteStatus), the Fortnite aiming glitch is affecting players on PC after they’ve been eliminated in a Creative match. In order to fix the issue, it’s recommended that players “try working around this by resetting keybindings to default.”

How to reset keybindings in Fortnite

  • Boot up Fortnite via the Epic Games Launcher on your PC
  • Select any game mode to reach the lobby screen
  • Click the “Menu” button in the top right corner
  • Select “Settings” from the list of options
  • Navigate to the “Keyboard Controls” tab
  • Under the “Presets” heading, click “Select Preset”
  • Click the arrows to navigate to “Standard (Default)” and then click “Accept”
  • Click “Apply”

After performing the above steps, you should now be able to aim down sights again. If you can’t, the developers have acknowledged the issue and are currently working on a fix. Hopefully, the wait won’t be too long for the Fortnite can’t aim down sights bug to be addressed in a future update.
