Fortnite 2.56 Update Patch Notes (February 12)

The Fortnite 2.56 update patch notes are now available to read, thanks to the official “Fortnite Status” Twitter account. The new update today had already been rolled out across Xbox One and iOS in the 11.50.1 update, which we reported on yesterday, and now the PS4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, and Android platforms are finally received it, too. (At the time of writing, the new Fortnite PC update hasn’t yet been rolled out, but it is coming.) Read on for details on what exactly this new patch fixes.

Fortnite 2.56 Update Patch Notes

The new Fortnite 2.56 update wasn’t teased by developer Epic Games in any way, which usually means that it’s going to be pretty lacking when it comes to new content drops. If you were expecting new game modes and changes to the maps with this new update, then you’re sure to be disappointed. You see, update 2.56 merely addresses stability across all platforms, while also fixes Weak Point harvesting hits not always registering.

The Fortnite 2.56 patch notes are as follows:

General

  • Addressed stability on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix for Weak Point harvesting hits not always registering.

While this isn’t the most exciting Fortnite update, it’s still good to see patches being rolled out to keep the game stable and improve the experience for those suffering from pesky bugs.

Other recent fixes include improvements to the friend selection/scrolling issue, players no longer getting stuck on loading screens after accepting invites before selecting a game mode, and some users being unable to select traps with a controller despite the “Pick Up” indicator being on-screen.

In future updates, you can expect to see tweaks and fixes for the physics issues that have been experienced since the 11.50 update dropped. Controller support on PC should also receive some aid, as both vibration and Turbo Building sometimes become unavailable.
