Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 | Release date, rumors, characters, and more

Now that Spawn is out, the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 rumors have been swirling. Who is going to be in it? What is the MK11 Kombat Pack 2 release date? We’ll get into all we know about it along with all of the rumors surrounding it.

Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 release date

NetherRealm has not officially confirmed the existence of Kombat Pack 2 coming to MK11. However, given how there have been at least two batches of DLC for Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2, it is a given that it is coming in some form be it an actual Kombat Pack or a big content update.

MK11 is coming up on its first anniversary on April 23, 2020, so it’s very likely we will see at least something new around that date. The current pandemic might have delayed some of those plans so it is important to remember that some things may have shifted.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ash from Evil Dead DLC unintentionally confirmed in official email

But just because NetherRealm hasn’t come out and confirmed anything doesn’t mean we don’t have a good idea of who the Kombat Pack 2 characters may be. Mortal Kombat 11 was heavily datamined right after its release, revealing the existence of every fighter from the game’s first Kombat Pack before their official announcement. All of the datamined characters from KP1 ended up being correct and they sat beside other files with these kombatants:

  • Fujin
  • Sheeva
  • Ash Williams (from Evil Dead)

Given how these names were in the same datamine as the confirmed characters from KP1, it already looks incredibly plausible that these three are coming to the game. The outlook looks even better when considering the datamined audio files that directly say Fujin’s name, Sheeva’s cameo in the story mode, and Ash’s mention in an official email (among the pop-up message some players saw in the game last year). All of this evidence makes for a convincing argument for these three characters being in Kombat Pack 2.

Kombat Pack 2 has other rumored characters, which you can read about below, but it might be bundled with some other content, too. There’s evidence that the classic Soul Chamber and Deadpool stages are coming as well as Friendship finishers (or some other sort of finisher); all of which could kick off another season, rebirth of the game, or ultimate edition.

Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 2 rumors

Everything else doesn’t have as much weight behind it and, while possible, falls further down into the rumor category. There are other datamined files that point to the possibility of Takeda and Stryker being added to the game, as their names are in the code. That same datamine also points to someone with “ROB” as their shorthand name. There is speculation on whether or not that could be Robocop, given all of ’80s action movie guest characters NetherRealm favors.

There’s also the slim possibility of it being any of the robots from the series, but that seems less plausible given that the references for having playable robots were recently stripped out the code. That said, if Sheeva, Fujin, and Ash are the most likely candidates, then Takeda, Stryker, and Robocop are in the next rung down in likelihood.

The next rung is far more shady and probably just trolls trying to, well, troll. There are some loose rumors suggesting that, in addition to Fujin, Sheeva, Robocop, and Ash, Havik and Ermac are also coming down the line, with the latter replacing Sareena, Mileena, Sektor, Cyrax, or Reptile because of delays surrounding the current pandemic. Again, while bundled with more credible rumors, these are not totally plausible, given where they come from. They’re just worth posting about just in case these rumors spiral out of control and people need to see where the initial thought began. Of course, they could be true, but don’t kross your fingers.
