There are three playable characters in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Battle For Bikini Bottom single-player, but you won’t be able to switch to them at the start of the game. How to change characters in SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom
Initially, you’ll be locked into playing as SpongeBob SquarePants only. However, in the first available level, Jellyfish Fields, you’ll unlock the ability to change characters when you recruit Patrick Star.

To change characters in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Battle for Bikini Bottom, you’ll need to find a Bus Stop. When you reach one, press the button indicated when prompted, and a character select screen will appear. Choose the character you wish to use, and the bus will bring them into the level.

Patrick is the strongman of Battle for Bikini Bottom. He can pick up and throw various objects, which allows him to hit enemies and switches from afar. He can also stun enemies with his belly flop, which will enable you to either follow up with a quick basic attack or pick them up and throw them.
Sandy Cheeks

- Lasso Attack
- Lasso Glide
Sandy is the jumper of the game, and she can cover a considerable distance by twirling her lasso above her head and gliding. She also has a powerful melee attack, also using her lasso, which makes her well suited for taking on more powerful robots.
