As of writing, we don’t know if there will be a Fortnite 100 Million Tournament in 2020. Epic Games has not laid out any plans for such an Esports event in 2020 for Fortnite, and it is July 17, as of writing. It’s difficult to see a 100 Million Tournament taking place in Fortnite in 2020 right now, but, we cannot say for sure without any official word from Epic Games.

The Fortnite World Cup event of 2019 formed part of the 100 Million tournament schedule. This took place in the summer. It hasn’t happened this year for some reason (potentially pandemic related), but that doesn’t mean it won’t before 2020 comes to a close. For now, though, we have the current Fortnite DreamHack 2020 monthly tournaments to play through and look forward to.

Anyone aged 13 and up can sign up for the online DreamHack monthly competitions and you can do so right here. Across North America and Europe, there is a $250,000 prize pool every month, with the first event beginning right now. While it’s too late to sign up for the opening DreamHack event, you can (or will be able to soon) sign up for the August event (should take place mid-August). The DreamHack qualification and tournament stages are as follows:

  • Heat One: Open Signup
    • Earn qualification points by playing up to ten matches of Fortnite online
  • 500 players qualify for Grand Final Qualifier
    • Earn qualifying points by playing up to ten matches of Fortnite online
  • Grand Final (100 players over eight matches)
  • Heat 2: Repeat above (250 players qualify for Grand Final Qualifier from each Heat)
    • You can sign up for both Heats in your region (Europe, NA East (EST), and NA West (PST))

So if you think you’re good enough in Solos and are 13 or older, the monthly DreamHack Tournament is one to get excited for.
