Will there be a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 remake? This question has been at the front of many THPS fans’ minds since the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 announcement. Keep scrolling to find out whether there are any plans to release a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 remaster.
Is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 getting a remake?
At the time of writing, a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 remake hasn’t officially been announced. The chances of a THPS3 remake happening seem pretty good, however, with the titular Tony Hawk himself expressing interest. If the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 performs well, some believe it’s an inevitability.
In a recent issue of Game Informer (via PC Invasion), Tony Hawk stated that he and Activision will “hopefully” produce more remasters together. “This is just the start,” said Hawk in reference to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. “We’re hopefully going to be able to help remaster other titles, Pro Skater 3 and 4 even, and start to work on a new direction.”
That’s “ultimately the goal” for Hawk, though whether or not he’ll have Activision’s backing remains to be seen. Whether these potential projects go ahead likely depends on what kind of critical and commercial reception the upcoming compilation receives.
One thing is for sure, though — the original THPS3 is a classic deserving of a remake. The PS2 version scored a whopping 97 on Metacritic, while the PC version bagged a respectable 90.
