The Fortnite 2.93 update is a maintenance patch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. These changes seemingly don’t relate to the PC, Android, iOS, PS5, Xbox Series X and S versions of Fortnite. With update 2.93 being a maintenance patch, the changes aren’t too exciting.

Fortnite patch 2.93 is a maintenance update for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Fortnite 2.93 patch notes state that the update will “fix the issue with Matchmaking portals in Creative” on the relevant platforms. Confirmation is promised when Creative Matchmaking portals are re-enabled, so keep an eye on the Fortnite Status account.

The patch isn’t overly exciting, though will be a welcome one for console players experiencing issues with Fortnite Creative Matchmaking portals. Not being able to access any game feature is always frustrating, so update 2.93 is a welcome quality of life improvement.

With PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and S versions of the battle royale game due out this week, things should get more exciting very soon. Regarding the PS5 version, Epic Games has stated that fans shouldn’t expect “just a tweaked PS4 build,” but rather more substantial changes including DualSense controller support.

Anybody interested in picking up a next-generation console, and Fortnite along with it, should check out the Game Revolution hardware reviews. Get the definitive verdict on PS5 and Xbox Series X; both are great machines, but for different reasons.

While Fortnite is hitting the new next-gen platforms, it’s also due to make its return to iOS soon. Rather than doing so via a dedicated app, however, the game will be accessible courtesy of online streaming.
