The Fortnite 2.93 update is a maintenance patch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. These changes seemingly don’t relate to the PC, Android, iOS, PS5, Xbox Series X and S versions of Fortnite. With update 2.93 being a maintenance patch, the changes aren’t too exciting.

The Fortnite 2.93 patch notes state that the update will “fix the issue with Matchmaking portals in Creative” on the relevant platforms. Confirmation is promised when Creative Matchmaking portals are re-enabled, so keep an eye on the Fortnite Status account.

The patch isn’t overly exciting, though will be a welcome one for console players experiencing issues with Fortnite Creative Matchmaking portals. Not being able to access any game feature is always frustrating, so update 2.93 is a welcome quality of life improvement.
With PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and S versions of the battle royale game due out this week, things should get more exciting very soon. Regarding the PS5 version, Epic Games has stated that fans shouldn’t expect “just a tweaked PS4 build,” but rather more substantial changes including DualSense controller support.
