The Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 2 start date is December 2 at 1 am PT. This start time is just less than eight hours after the aforementioned battle with Galactus ended. It is not clear how long this season will be but, if it is like others in the past, it will about 10 weeks. This means it could on or around February 9, 2021.
Epic Games has not fully revealed what this season will be or what it will revolve around. The studio tweeted out a vague teaser that spoke of transmissions and secret codes. The season will almost assuredly be shown off later in the day or when it fully launches. It is unclear if it is will also revolve around Marvel, but very likely.
While the timer in the game goes up at 9 pm PT on December 1, the game has some scheduled maintenance at that time. The official Fortnite Status Twitter account tweeted that the game will go down at 9 pm PT on December 1 until 1 am PT on December 2. The game will not be playable within those hours so it’s best just to wait until 1 am PT to jump on.
This is likely when Chapter 2 will launch, as was the case with last season as it also launched at the same time. However, don’t be surprised if it launches sometime later in the day as sometimes things like this are never set in stone.
Status: Galactus defeated! Thanks for your efforts.
