Stardew Valley | How to get Fire Quartz

Fire Quartz is one of the more rare materials in Stardew Valley. This glowing red crystal is valuable both for its sale price and the utility it can provide to your farm. However, it’s not something you’re likely to find without looking in specific locations. Here’s how to get Fire Quartz and what you stand to earn from gathering it.

How to get Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley

Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley is a mineral typically found in the deepest levels of the Mines. You can get Fire Quartz after reaching Floor 80 in the Mines and harvesting either Magma or Omni Geodes. Alternatively, you can find it by sifting through bodies of water with the Copper Pan, inside underwater treasure chests, or in garbage cans.

If you’re trying to get this mineral quickly, you should head straight for the mines. Levels 80 and beyond play host to Magma Geodes and Omni Geodes, both of which carry a chance to drop Fire Quartz once broken open by Clint the Blacksmith. They may not necessarily drop Fire Quartz, but if they don’t, you’ll still receive another valuable mineral.

Otherwise, you’ll have to put in some work. Fishing is probably the next easiest route, since there’s a decent chance to find an underwater treasure chest with a Fire Quartz inside. If you’ve made it far enough along in the game, you can also try panning. Just remember that the Copper Pan you’ll need isn’t unlocked until you remove the boulder outside the entrance to the mines. Regardless of whether you fish or pan for it, this glowing mineral only appears with a four percent drop chance.

But why should you bother seeking out this mineral? That part is easy: Fire Quartz can be placed into the furnace (alongside a lump of coal) to produce three Refined Quartz. As such, they’re a great way to quickly load up on Lightning Rods, Quality Sprinklers, and Solar Panels. Plus, nearly every villager in Stardew Valley likes it as a gift, with the exception of Leah, Linus, and Pierre.
