New World patch notes

New World update patch notes, July 23: Server maintenance today

The latest New World update patch notes todayy, July 23, are here, detailing another batch of improvements to the closed beta after the MMO launched earlier this week. However, the beta is currently offline as of writing, and the New World server maintenance for July 23 is due to last at least another hour. However, once the New World maintenance is over, let’s see what the July 23 update brings.

What’s in the New World server maintenance update for July 23, 2021?

New World patch notes

The New World update for July 23 is bigger than the patch for July 21, which added the first notable improvements to the beta since it launched. The most notable part of the update is the least specific, which is that developer Amazon Studios is further improving the stability of the game’s servers to prevent crashes. Given that many players are still having problems getting in the game thanks to server issues, this is a welcome one.

There are a few improvements to the text-to-speech system, including volume and actually turning it off when the player does so. Northern Point of Interest boundaries for the Crescent Window will now update properly, so players can actually discover Inkwell Cave no matter what direction they arrive from. Players don’t have to rush Tradeskill Community Missions now either, as the length of time needed to complete them has been boosted.

The only graphical improvement in this update relates to fog in the Edengrove and Weaver’s Fen territories, as players did encounter off-putting flickering in those areas, although this should be fixed now. Beyond all that, fishing enthusiasts will be relieved to hear that engaging in their favorite hobby will no longer crash the game. Phew.
