Disney account member services scam

How to identify Disney ‘account member services’ scam

No company is immune from scammers trying to impersonate them to grab customers’ details – even one as big as Disney. An email scam that’s doing the rounds once again among Disney Plus subscribers is supposedly from “account member services,” looking into suspicious activity. Of course, though, it’s not reliable at all. We’ve got all the information on how to identify the account member services Disney scam below.

What is the Disney “account member services” scam?

This is another scam that’ll approach you by email, usually on an address that doesn’t end in “…@disney.com.” The email will say that there’s been “suspicious login activity” on your account. It’ll ask you to follow a link to reset your password. We must stress that you shouldn’t follow this link, or input any sensitive data on the page that follows, as that’s how the scammers will get your details.

It’s a conniving way to get your trust, by claiming that your account details are already exposed. However, the most important thing is to look very carefully at the email address the message is coming from. If it doesn’t look official, with capital letters or any wording that looks unusual, it’s best to double-check before replying. One sensible way is to cross-reference the address on the Disney contact page – if it isn’t there, then it’s most likely a scam email.

It’s also worth remembering that usually, companies won’t send emails about resetting your password unless you’ve requested it. For example, if you’ve selected the “Forgot my password” option on a site, you’d receive something of this kind. If it’s arriving in your inbox randomly, then the chances are it’s only going to cause trouble.
