The Ascent Pocket Mech

Why is The Ascent Pocket Mech so weak? How to upgrade

Players may be wondering about The Ascent Pocket Mech and why it is so comparatively weak, considering how impressive and formidable it looks when using it. Trying to use it in the late game without the proper improvements is a recipe for a quick defeat, so players will need to know the best The Ascent Mech upgrades available to make the Pocket Mech as powerful as it looks. Here’s what to get.

How to upgrade The Ascent Pocket Mech so it isn’t so weak

The Ascent Pocket Mech

In order to make the Pocket Mech less weak in The Ascent, players should look at upgrading their player character significantly before trying it out on higher enemies, as well as switching their weapons or loadouts. Gold or purple armor is a good start to stop the Mech from falling so quickly. Guns should be upgraded as high as possible, for example, the EBR Enforcer energy rifle should be boosted all the way up to Mk. 10 if possible.

Players should also look into pairing the Pocket Mech with some decent Augmentations too, such as Stasis Stomp, Shield Dronettes, Overclock, or any of the various modules that activate little robot companions as both allies and distractions. As for why upgrading the player’s own gear and abilities make a difference to the Pocket Mech, just like any equipment in The Ascent it receives a boost from the player character’s stats. Anyone trying the Pocket Mech will notice it is significantly less weak and more useful the more maxed-out their character’s gear, loadout, and Augmentations are.

The first big patch for The Ascent came out this week, although it is currently only on Xbox, and hopefully there will be further patches to sort out the game’s many problems. Nevertheless, there is at least new DLC to look forward to in the coming weeks.
