There’s bittersweet news today, as Twitch has just lost one of its biggest streamers. In something of a surprise move, Tim “TimTheTatMan” Betar has announced that he is no longer partnered with Twitch. The star doesn’t plan to quit streaming, of course, so what does this news mean for fans and previous subscribers?
Why is TimTheTatMan no longer a Twitch partner?
TimTheTatMan has left Twitch for YouTube. The streamer announced that he would no longer be partnered with Twitch on September 1, 2021. Instead, he’ll now be streaming exclusively on YouTube Gaming.
This news has come as a bit of surprise. Not only has Betar built up over 7 million followers on Twitch, many of them were also subscribers. Thankfully, for those whose subscriptions are being cut short, Twitch is offering a limited time offer for a free one-month subscription at your current tier to a different channel. Of course, not all of TimTheTatMan’s fans are left in the dust. He’s closing in on 4 million subscribers on YouTube already. Now that he’ll be streaming exclusively on YouTube, there’s little doubt that figure will begin to grow very soon.
As for the reason why he’s left Twitch for YouTube, that’s simple. Speaking in an interview with Insider, Betar said the new deal will give him more free time to spend with his family. Having grown up over the years, he finds he’s no longer able to stream as much as he had before. It’s not that he doesn’t love streaming, it’s just that family must come first.

Worry not, fans. TimTheTatMan is not gone, he’s just moved on from Twitch to YouTube Gaming. Even though he’s no longer partnered, previous subscribers can at least get a free monthly sub from Twitch directly. For everyone else, if you need to get your fix, head to TimTheTatMan’s YouTube channel.
