Dinkum Make Money Fast: How to Get Dinks Quickly

You’ll want to make money fast in Dinkum to continue moving through the game at a good clip. The biggest progression barrier in the game is cash, and getting Dinks quickly will give you access to more deeds and items. There are plenty of ways to make money in the game, but we think we’ve found the quickest currently available.

How to make money quickly in Dinkum

Dinkum Franklyn

The fastest way to make money in Dinkum is through excavation. There’s plenty of old junk buried all over your island, and it sells for surprisingly high prices (there’s a mod that’ll tell you just how much right in the menu). However, you don’t start the game with the ability to find these artifacts.

To get Dinks quickly, you’ll need to unlock the Excavation License for 500 Permit Points. Then you’ll need to unlock the ability to use a Metal Detector for another 250 Permit Points. Afterward, you should head to John’s store and buy a Shovel for 800 Dinks and a Metal Detector for 6,800 Dinks.

Once you have your gear, you can start searching for treasure. Equip your metal detector and start scanning the ground. We’ve found we have the best luck finding treasure near the island’s shores. Just keep scanning until you hear the beeps, and then localize the treasure and dig it up.

The items found while treasure hunting can be sold for a considerable profit, and you can easily make a few 100K an hour with some luck. However, one NPC in particular will make you rich if you sell them the right item.

Make sure to hold onto any Shiny Discs you find. You can sell the rest to John but hold onto Shiny Discs until Franklyn visits your island. He’ll purchase them for around 9,000 Dinks apiece and give you access to new items to boot.

Shiny Discs aren’t particularly rare. Between selling them to Franklyn and everything else to John, you’ll have more money than you know what to do within just a few hours.
