However, with the game placing players in their fifth year at Hogwarts, it’s expected that the game will tackle relatable teenage problems as well as wizarding ones, so romance would be a natural part of the story.

But it hasn’t been explicitly denied. We know you can grow relationships with companions as you play. If romance were an option, this feature reveal would likely have shown off romance too.
