Atomic Heart RTX Settings: Can You Turn Raytracing On?

Atomic Heart doesn’t have RTX on any platform. There’s no way to turn raytracing on in the settings on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S. Despite the game being heavily advertised as having raytracing, that feature is not available on launch, and there’s no ETA as to when it’ll be added.

Does Atomic Heart have RTX on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S?

Atomic Heart doesn’t have NVIDIA RTX on PC and doesn’t support raytracing on current-gen consoles. When the game was revealed in 2018, NVIDIA advertised it as having RTX and used it as an example of the then-new technology. Since Mundfish never commented about RTX being removed on PC, many players assumed it would be there at launch.

While the devs did explain that raytracing wouldn’t be available at Atomic Heart’s launch, we didn’t know RTX was missing from the PC version until review copies went out. Rock, Paper, Shotgun contacted the game’s PR team and was told, “the devs will be looking into implementing this post-launch.”

The game also lacks basic options like a Field of View slider, so it’s not surprising that the devs ditched RTX for now. Atomic Heart was originally scheduled to launch in 2019, so there were obviously some hiccups along the way. Hopefully, it’ll get raytracing in a future patch.
