twitter api endpoint error

Twitter ‘Your Current API Plan Does Not Include Access to This Endpoint’ Error Explained

A new Twitter error prevents users from clicking on links, telling them: “Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint.” This error sees users being redirected to a black screen with a brief message informing them to click on a ‘developer’ link, with this also not working. So what is this issue, and is there a way to fix it?

Can you fix the Twitter API plan error?

The Twitter API plan error sees the social network rejecting native API calls, preventing users from clicking on links that would typically take them to another site. This means that if you post a link to Twitter, unless you’re on the “API plan” discussed by Twitter, you’re going to hit the error screen. Unfortunately, there is currently no fix for this.

Twitter directs users to a URL that it alleges contains more information, but at the time of this writing, this link also redirects to the error page.

With Twitter having experimented with a bunch of new features since Elon Musk acquired the company — and many of them having been poorly implemented or hastily walked back by the entrepreneur — this seems like yet another project that has been deployed with some unfortunate consequences.
