Resident Evil 4 Remake More Pest Control: Where to Find Rat Locations

The Resident Evil 4 Remake “More Pest Control” request can be frustrating to complete. The quest is found as a letter on a wall in the library area in Chapter 9, with The Merchant asking you to get rid of these pests throughout the castle. That said, the rats aren’t actually found in either the library or the Great Hall as you might assume. Here’s where you can find the rats to complete the More Pest Control quest in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Where are the rats in Resident Evil 4 Remake More Pest Control quest?

There are three rats that you need to kill to complete the More Pest Control request in the RE4 Remake:

  1. Dining Hall (Chapter 9) – The first rat can be found either in or around the Dining Hall. Sometimes you can find it in the hallway right before it, but you should still be able to hear it scurrying around.
  2. Armory (Chapter 9) – This rat will try to hide close to the Armory, so you’ll likely need to use a flashlight to spot it. Fortunately, there’s a good chance that it will get stuck in the hallway close by, making it easy to kill.
  3. Mausoleum (Chapter 10) – While you might spot this rat while controlling Ashley, you can’t kill it until Leon is freed. This rat will be in a hallway close to where you start playing as Ashley.

We recommend using a gun from a distance to take out the rats since they scurry away if you get close. Otherwise, a quick slice of a knife will do the job too. For your trouble, completing the More Pest Control request will award you three Spinels.
