Since there’s quite a lot to unpack, here’s a condensed breakdown of the major highlights, including the new hero Lifeweaver and other balance changes.

Overwatch 2 Season 4 patch notes details and highlights

These are the most important changes and updates coming with the Overwatch 2 Season 4 patch notes on April 11:

  • Lifeweaver – This new hero has a chargeable healing burst, an attack that can fire projectiles in a spread, and can heal all allies within the radius of a tree.
  • Stranded Spawn System – Spawn rooms that shut down will now remain active for 7 seconds and you can teleport to the new active spawn room.
  • Top 500 Leaderboard Eligibility – Players will now need to win 25 Competitive matches, not just be in 25 matches in general, to enter the Top 500 Leaderboard.
  • Competitive Leaver Penalty Changes – A new Competitive season will not reset suspensions and bans anymore. This should stop players from quitting matches at the end of a season without penalty.
  • Competitive Point Reward Changes – The amount of CP earned after a Competitive Paly win has been boosted from 15 to 25. CP points earned for being in a final seasonal rank have been increased significantly too.
  • Competitive Challenge Titles – Open Queue titles will have “Open Challenger” while Role Queue titles will have just “Challenger”
  • Seasonal Rank Decay Removed – A player’s Competitive Rank will not be reduced at the start of a new season anymore.
  • Competitive Skill Update and Progression – Players will have clearer stats on their losses, ties, and wins, and see how they have improved even if they do not reach a new skill tier or division.
  • Map Pools Disabled – All maps are in rotation now
  • Hero Updates
    • Reinhardt – Armor health down, base health up
    • Sigma – Accretion damage down, knockdown duration up
