Mortal Kombat 1 Beta Release Date

Mortal Kombat 1 Beta Playtest Release Date, How to Register for PS5 & Xbox Sign-Ups

The Mortal Kombat 1 beta release date has been revealed, along with instructions on how to sign up and register for the playtest. The beta will happen about a month before the game launches and be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. So while MK1 will be available for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, these two platforms will not be in the beta. Here’s when the beta for this Mortal Kombat 1 reboot is expected to arrive.

What is the Mortal Kombat 1 beta release date?

The Mortal Kombat 1 beta release date is August 2023. You will need to pre-order the game on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S to gain access to the beta.

While NetherRealm Studios is unsure of the exact day the beta will happen, the MK1 reboot is slated to release on September 19, 2023, with early access available on September 14. You will need to pre-order the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition for $109.99 or Kollector’s Edition for $249.99 for any platform to gain early access.

So if you want access to both the beta and five-day early access for Mortal Kombat 1, you’ll need to pre-order the MK1 Premium Edition or Kollector’s Edition on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Yeah, it’s complicated.

NetherRealm Studios didn’t go into what the MK1 beta will entail. There’s no word on whether this Mortal Kombat 1 reboot will have crossplay multiplayer, but we expect that the beta will test online play and matchmaking. The game does have rollback netcode, so this playtest will be a good opportunity for the developers to test it properly before the official release date.
