A Street Fighter 6 servers down issue pops up on occasion for the game. Many players have experienced periods of time where online matchmaking is not working in either casual matches or ranked play. This can be particularly frustrating if you get kicked from a match or if you’re the middle of getting a higher rank. Here are some reasons why the SF6 servers and online matchmaking are down.
Why are Street Fighter 6 servers down?
The Street Fighter 6 servers go down usually because the game is under scheduled maintenance, particularly if there’s a significant update or a patch.
You can expect the servers to go offline whenever there’s new DLC like new characters that drop as part of the battle pass, which comes included in various editions of Street Fighter 6. You can also check Capcom’s official SF6 social media pages, particularly the game’s Twitter page. The Street Fighter 6 support page is a good resource as well for official statements from Capcom.
We also recommend that you head to the regular Street Fighter Reddit to see if other players are experiencing problems with online matchmaking. If you sort the threads by the newest ones, you can see if there are any other users reporting issues with the server outage.
If there aren’t any other players experiencing server problems, then you may want to check your own internet connection. A quick restart of your computer or console might also work to repair the issue. There’s also the possibility that it could be an issue with a local server in your region instead of a worldwide problem. In that case, we recommend waiting at least thirty minutes before attempting to log back online.
At the time of this writing, some third-party websites like Downdetector do not have a specific page for Street Fighter 6, but they could be made available later on once the official release comes out on June 2.
That said, if the online servers do go down, you can grind levels and zenny in World Tour mode instead.
