Remnant 2 Purple Orb Following Me Gravity Ball

Remnant 2 Purple Orb: Why Is This Gravity Ball Following Me?

Sometimes a Remnant 2 purple orb randomly begins to follow the player, especially in dungeons. Getting too close the gravity ball will suck the player in and deal damage. At the same time, shooting the purple orb doesn’t seem to do anything either. This has led some to think that they need to lead the ball to a specific place in the dungeon like a floating key to unlock a door. Here’s what this purple orb is and why it’s following players in Remnant 2.

Why is the Remnant 2 purple orb following me?

The purple orb following players in dungeons is actually an enemy that cannot be killed. The point is to avoid the orb altogether until you complete the dungeon.

It’s unclear why this purple orb appears in the first place or what triggers it to follow the player. At this point, we believe that it’s simply one of the many random events that can occur while players are exploring a dungeon. Various players report seeing the purple orb spawn in a number of places, including The Hatchery, the Vault of the Formless, and the Dark Conduit. So there doesn’t seem to be a pattern as to when or how this orb shows up in the game.

After looking at the evidence, it looks like this purple orb is a general hazard that you need to avoid. There are other orbs that you can interact with, like one in Tiller’s Rest that uses your character’s body as a transportation vessel or several floating purple orbs that you need to destroy in the Far Woods of Yaesha to earn Blood Moon Essence. So you may need to figure out what exactly the orb is there for, but if it’s following you with unlimited aggro and dealing damage, then it’s most likely an obstacle.
