Baldur's Gate 3 Astral Plane Realm Where to Go

Baldur’s Gate 3 Astral Plane: Where to Go If You’re Stuck

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Astral Plane can be a confusing place to navigate, with many players asking where to go as they explore the realm. After teleporting to the plane, searching around the rocky area reveals several places where you can jump to, particularly three islands where you can find various types of loot. But it can be easy to get stuck and not know where to proceed from there, since nothing seems to pop up as an obvious way to go. Here’s where you need to go in the Astral Plane in BG3.

Where to go in Baldur’s Gate 3 Astral Plane

If you’re stuck trying to figure out where to go in the Astral Plane, you need to click on the semi-circle round gate.

The reason this might be confusing is because of the way your party members emerge into the plane. The gate usually appears behind the party, making many players think that they came into the realm from that entry point. Instead, that’s actually where they need to go to continue the questline. You can identify the gate by the slightly purple hue that emanates from the cave behind it.

It’s possible that the gate could be bugged. In particular, if you head back to camp and perform a full rest, the portal might not be there when you return to the plane. There’s also a chance that you may need to redo a fight within the Astral Plane (we’re keeping this vague on purpose) to make sure that the portal reappears. Worse case scenario, to fix the glitch you may need to reload a prior save before the fight begins.

Either way, there will be a portal close to the gate that can be used to leave the Astral Plane once you’re done, returning to the Inquisitor’s Chamber.

BG3 Astral Plane FAQ

Q: Where should I go in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Astral Plane to continue my quest?

A: In the Astral Plane, you need to locate and click on the semi-circle round gate. It often appears behind where your party members enter the plane, which can be misleading. You can identify this gate by its distinct purple hue coming from the cave behind it.

Q: The gate in the Astral Plane is missing when I return. What could be the reason and how do I fix it?

A: This can be a known issue. If you go back to camp and take a full rest, the portal might disappear upon your return to the Astral Plane. There’s a possibility that you may need to engage in a specific fight within the plane again to make the portal reappear. If this doesn’t work, you might need to reload an earlier save before that particular fight.

Q: Once I’ve finished in the Astral Plane, how can I exit?

A: After completing your objectives in the Astral Plane, you’ll find a portal near the semi-circle round gate. Use this portal, and you’ll be taken back to the Inquisitor’s Chamber.
