Baldur's Gate 3 Blue Jays Find BG3 Map Marker Quest

Baldur’s Gate 3 Blue Jay’s Find: How to Get Treasure at Map Marker

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Blue Jay’s Find is a marker that appears on the map near the end of a side quest involving a blue jay in Rosymorn Monastery. At around coordinates X 60, X -19, you’ll find a nest with a blue jay that you talk to with Speak With Animals. The bird will give you a side quest to get rid of some ancient giant eagles near the rooftop, and once that happens, it will provide the location of something that he found along a ferry dock. However, while the Blue Jay’s Find is clearly shown on the map, it may be tougher than usual to figure out how to claim the treasure at the spot. Here’s how to clear the Blue Jay’s Find off the map in BG3.

How to get the Baldur’s Gate 3 Blue Jay’s Find

To get the Blue Jay’s Find, you may need to dig up the treasure chest manually by using the shovel.

The reason why you might not be able to grab the loot is because spotting the mound requires your party members to pass a very high DC 25 Survival check. Even if you switch party members around for a second chance to pass the check, you still may not succeed. While you can use save scumming (that is, saving and loading until the party does spot the mound), there’s an easier method to dig it up.

If you head to your inventory, you can right-click on the shovel and select the “Use” command. This turns your mouse cursor into a shovel icon, allowing you to select the spot manually and unearth the treasure chest buried in the ground.

This is similar to the hidden goblin chest back in Act 1, though there is a bug associated with it where the map marker for that chest stays despite already finding it. There’s also a House With Flowers bug in Act 2 that you may have encountered, though that one can be cleared by completing a side quest.
