Once you get Restore, you’ll be able to deal with these balls of corruption called Lurge. To do this, just go up to the main blob that glows and hold the fire button once the prompt shows up. The main bulb can be hard to find sometimes so a higher vantage point helps. The prompt can be finicky, so be sure to get close and look at it straight on.

Jak will then perform a short spell on and an enemy called leylodons will pop out. Most are small, but a huge one will jump out every so often. Those who track down the Immortals of Aveum purple goop will get experience and access to new paths that are linked to chests, puzzles, or Shroudfanes.
